Upstairs rooms, marvellous breakfast. Affable staff, very comfy beds. Location close enough to the lake, the restaurant and Emerald Lake Lodge. Also, in the Yoho-Banff area.

The room was very comfortable, the lake and mountain area is breathtaking, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hike around the lake was a very pleasant walk that is well groomed and card for.We also took our Booked.nets with us and the boathouse people allowed us to store the boats on their racks (not part of the hotel)
The food is very good, but a bit expensive. I presume this is because of the remote location.

Fine location but needs TLC
The amazing views of Emerald Lake from our room were lovely. Relaxing by the fireplace with a glass of wine was pure bliss.

The Canadian inspired staff always inquired how we were and if they couls assist in any way, from the folks picking us at the overnight parking to the snow sweepers to make sure we were sure footed. Glorious and the value of this is not definable. Loved the joint!!

Big hype, little substance
While the views at this retreat are indeed amazing, the experience fell a bit short. Service was hit or miss, and the scramble to find dining options due to unexpected closures was frustrating. Don't overlook the rustic charm, but expect some hiccups along the way.

The quiet and the scenery. No tv, no radio. Spent lots of time chatting and reading and walking. A shock at first, after all the noise and technology we're used to, but a wonderful experience. Hope to return - don't recommend it to anyone tho, a hidden jewel!

We loved canoeing on the lake and visiting the excellent Yoho National Park. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. For future guests, be prepared for some walking to the lodge from your cabin, but it's worth it for the experience.

Gorgeous setting on turquoise lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. Unique chalet "duplexes" w/ balcony & fire place stocked w/wood daily. Very romantic & isolated. Very good food & can order picnic to take for hiking.
Front desk staff & manager were cool, not welcoming. Grounds gardens by chalets & shuttle bus area needed weeding & care. Very limited, meager exercise room, which could Be made nice.

Can recommend for a fleeting trip
Fine location, relaxing atmosphere, with amazing views of the lake from the room and easy access to hiking trails and outdoor activities just steps away.
Everything went smoothly.

Quiet beautiful location. Helpful professional staff.
The hot pool has a very icy spot at the door to the pool. Witnessed a young lady take a severe fall on the ice.

Location was great but food was very substandard with the cost for inferior meals outragrous. To top it off both myself and my partner had food poisoning with vomiting and diarrhea along with at least three other visitors from a buffet July 31, 2011.
Inferior meals with the high expense requiring gormet level quality to justify the expense. This was not even remotely achieved,
